After reporting lowest daily Covid-19 new cases on Tuesday in 52 days, Rajasthan reports increase for 2 days in row | Jaipur News


JAIPUR: For the second consecutive day, the state reported an increase in daily new Covid-19 infections. The state reported 1810 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday bringing the state’s overall tally to 2,05,800.
Since October 2, the daily new Covid-19 infections have steadily reduced but in the past two days in a row, the state reported daily increase in new Covid-19 infections. Two days ago (November 3), the state had reported lowest daily new infections in 52 days. In the next two days, the daily new infections were reported at 1770 and 1810.
Health department officials said that they are taking measures to prevent spread of the virus. “We have extended jan andolan campaign up to November 30 and people are being told about the importance of wearing masks. Apart from this, ‘No Mask, No Entry’ campaign is also becoming successful, as not only government offices, but private offices, shops, commercial establishments and others are abiding by this and people are not allowed to enter until they wear a mask,” said a health department official.
The active cases in the state have increased in numbers. The active cases had taken a significant dip from October 13 to October 31 and came down from 21924 (peak) to 15102. With the beginning of November, the active cases started increasing in numbers again and touched 16,301 on Thursday.
Though the active cases are increasing in numbers, the state are consistently reporting deaths between 9 to 11 in the past few days. Ten persons died, while 1810 others were tested positive for Covid-19 in the state on Thursday bringing its overall tally to 2,05,800. With 10 more deaths, state’s toll rose to 1955.
Districts which reported new cases are Jaipur (333), Jodhpur (206), Bikaner (203), Ajmer (110), Alwar (102), Sikar (102), Jalore (61), Nagaur (58), Pali (55), Srigangangar (55), Kota (53), Barmer (45), Churu (45), Bharatpur (43), Udaipur (39), Jhunjhunu (39), Dausa (36), Bhilwara (28), Chittorgarh (27), Hanumangarh (22), Dholpur (20), Tonk (20), Sirohi (17), Rajsamand (15), Jhalawar (14), Baran (14), Dungarpur (11), Sawai Madhopur (11), Jaisalmer (10), Banswara (7), Karauli (7) and Pratapgarh (2).
Jaipur reported its 379th Covid-19 death, Jodhpur 189th, Bikaner 143rd, Ajmer 145th, Udaipur 75th, Sikar 61st, Alwar 60th, Jalore 39th, Jhunjhunu 29th and Churu reported its 26th Covid-19 fatality.
