Bhilwara Hospital Fire: Fire breaks out Bhilwara hospital, over 50 patients rescued | Ajmer News


JAIPUR: A private hospital in Bhilwara witnessed chaos when the third floor of the building caught fire where 52 patients were undergoing treatment on Sunday. The police along with the health department, local administration and hospital staff vacated the hospital premises and evacuated the patients.
The attendants were seen rushing their patients out of the hospital with the help of the police and local administration. At the time when the incident happened, 10 patients were on ventilator, they were also shifted to some other hospital safely.
It is the same hospital, which was the epicenter for Covid-19 outbreak, which reported more than 25 Covid-19 cases due to which textile town came into light in second half of April.
The fire incident happened at 8.20am at the hospital which comes under Subhash Nagar police station – Subhash Nagar. Station house officer Pushpa Kasautiya was on the round, when she got the information that black smoke was seen from the third floor of the building. District collector Shiv Prakash Nakate, superintendent of police Preeti Chandra, chief medical health officer Dr Mushtaq Khan along with other local administration, health department and police rushed to the spot.
The police said that 52 patients were undergoing treatment for different ailments and there were some Covid-19 suspect and Covid-19 patients who were shifted to other hospitals. The police said that there was no loss of life happened in the incident.
“We have a UPS room at the third floor of the hospital. The smoke came out from the room. The first thing which came into our mind was safety of the patients. We safely shifted the patients to other hospitals with the help of the police and local administration,” said an official of the hospital.
Director general of police Bhupendra Singh praised the police for the effort in safely evacuating the patients and shifting to other hospitals.
