MUMBAI: As many as 73 resident doctors from three medical colleges-Sion, KEM and BYL Nair-have tested positive for Covid-19 since the beginning of the outbreak here, with Sion having the most infected at 42. Though infections have slowed down as more PPE kits have become available, doctors say they ought to be provided with better nutrition and treatment facilities.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, an assistant commissioner of police from the western suburbs tested positive and has been hospitalised. Three officers attached to Samta Nagar police station in Kandivli (E) have also tested positive. With this, Covid has affected 618 policemen in the city so far and claimed nine lives.
