Covid-19: Jaipur reports 17% of total cases in 7 days | Jaipur News


JAIPUR: In just a week’s time, Jaipur has reported 2,245 new Covid-19 cases, which account for 17% of the total cases the city has reported since the first case was detected on March 3.
On Monday, the city reported 320 new infections taking its overall corona case tally to 13,036.
Currently, the city has 4,547 active cases who are undergoing treatment in hospitals and under home isolation.
The city contributed immensely to the 1,580 new cases in the state in the last 24 hours taking the overall state tally to 92,536. Besides, 14 persons died too, taking the state’s toll to 1,151.
“Till now no medicine or vaccine for corona has hit the market. Our country is now No. 2 corona infections. Daily 90,000 people are getting infected and till now around 41 lakh people have been infected. It is also impacting the state too. Till a few days ago there were around 1,100 cases per day, but now this number has crossed more than 1,500 per day,” said Raghu Sharma, health minister.
Kota Medical College principal Dr Vijay Sardana and his wife tested positive on Monday. Two other doctors of the medical college along with their spouses were found infected with the virus. They are additional principal Dr Devender Vijayvergeya and his wife and Dr Dependra Sharma and his wife.
