Delhi Containment Zones: Five new containment zones spring up in Delhi | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: A total of five new containment zones were created in the capital on Wednesday with authorities sealing three areas in the East district and two in the South district after positive cases of Covid-19 were detected.
The number of containment zones in Delhi, thereby, rose to 96.
In the East district, Gali No. 3 from A-55 to S-82 (Sai Chowk Dairy), Gali No. 4 and Gali No. 5 from B-98/1 to A-82 (Seedi Waa Mandir) under Anarkali Garden in Jagatpuri were declared containment zones. Eight houses in Kondli’s Pandit Mohalla and parts of Gali No. 9 Church Colony and Shani Bazar Road in Sangam Vihar were also declared red zones after multiple cases of Covid-19 were detected.
After an outbreak of novel coronavirus in a JJ camp in Tigri where five positive cases were detected, the SDM (Saket) invoked containment plans and declared House No. B-258, B-822, C-98, H1-54, and H-16 as containment zones.
These areas have been sealed so that people living within containment zones are not allowed to move out and police have been deployed to check any violations. “No unauthorised person should be allowed into the containment zones under any circumstances,” an order by the SDM stated.
