Gurugram administration assures citizens of preparedness to combat Covid-19 outbreak | Gurgaon News


NEW DELHI: Amid spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in Gurugram in Haryana, the district administration has assured its residents that they have “adequate medical preparedness” to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
A 24/7 Helpline ‘1950’ will be available for answering queries pertaining to Covid-19, said the Gurugram district administration in a press release.

“The majority of the cases in the district are asymptomatic and thus they don’t need special medical attention other than observation at home or an institution,” it said.
A detailed standard operating procedure (SOP) in this regard will be issued, which will include details on sampling, home isolation, hospitalisation, containment zones etc
After recording the highest single-day jump in coronavirus cases on Friday with 217 fresh infections, 115 of which were from the state’s worst-hit Gurugram district, 202 new cases were reported in Haryana on Saturday.
Haryana had decided to seal the state’s borders with Delhi on Wednesday due to an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. Haryana home minister Anil Vij had passed an order in this regard. “We will keep our border with Delhi completely sealed due to increasing Covid-19 cases,” Vij had said.The order, however, clarified that those permitted by the Delhi high court and allowed in accordance with the MHA guidelines, would be exempted from these restrictions.
