In Uttar Pradesh, lightning kills 23 in 24 hours | Allahabad News

LUCKNOW: As many as 23 people were killed and 29 injured after being struck by lightning in various parts of the state in the last 24 hours.
According to the office of UP relief commissioner, eight people were killed in Prayagraj, six in Mirzapur and two in Kaushambi. One person was reportedly killed in Jaunpur after a wall collapsed following heavy rainfall. Six people were reportedly killed in Bhadohi and six others were injured after being struck by lightning in different parts of the district.
According to relief commissioner Sanjay Goyal, nine people in Prayagraj, 10 in Mirzapur and four in Kaushambi suffered serious injuries after being hit by lightning.
CM Yogi Adityanath directed DMs to provide a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to kin of those killed. The CM also asked the officials to ensure proper medical aid to the injured.
