Kiara Advani reveals she anticipated the backlash that ‘Kabir Singh’ received, says it is unfair that people reduced it to just one slap | Hindi Movie News

Kiara Advani recently opened up about the controversy that surrounded her film, ‘Kabir Singh’ with Shahid Kapoor. She revealed that although she had anticipated the backlash, it was unfair that some people reduced the film to just one slap.

In Neha Dhupia’s chat show, Kiara reportedly said that she was nervous before the film released as she was already anticipating the backlash it would receive. She stated that they had seen it happening with the first film, ‘Arjun Reddy’ too.

Elaborating further, Kiara added that she wasn’t prepared for the magnitude of the backlash. However, according to her the final scene justified everything. For her, the scene showed strength. The actress added that unfortunately some people just reduced the film to just one slap. According to her, that is not something she would ever stand for and that’s not something that even her character Preeti stood for.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Kabir Singh’ is a remake of Telugu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’. The film was a huge hit at the box-office where it made some record-breaking collections.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid will next be seen in yet another remake of a Telugu film titled, ‘Jersey’. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur.

Kiara, on the other hand, will next be seen in ‘Shershaah’ co-starring her rumoured beau Sidharth Malhotra.
