Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki commissions 5MW solar plant in Gurugram

NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki India has commissioned a 5 MW solar plant in Gurugram, the car manufacturers announced on Friday.
The carmaker has invested around Rs. 200 million in the carport style photovoltaic solar power plant. The solar power project will offset 5,390 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, for the next 25 years, said Maruti Suzuki in a release.
The 5 MW solar power plant will cater to the internal energy requirements of the Gurugram facility by synchronizing with the captive power plant.
The Gurugram solar power plant will give an output of 7,010 MWH of power annually. The Gurugram project is not the carmaker’s first endeavour in the field of sustainability. Maruti Suzuki had earlier installed a 1 MW solar power plant at the Manesar facility.
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki has most number of BS6 cars in the market.
