MUMBAI: Cab aggregators Ola and Uber have started offering rides for essential services and resumed operations at the city aiport’s international terminal (T2).
Only two passengers are allowed in a cab. The apps show availability of rides across Mumbai, with a message that it’s only for essential service. To ensure safety, the aggregators have introduced mandatory fumigation of cars.
Meanwhile, kaali-peeli and autorickshaw drivers have urged the government to allow them to resume services in office areas saying cabs and autos were always preferred modes of transport for last-mile connectivity.
At present they are allowed only for essential services.
