OJEE chairman SK Chand said they will conduct web based counselling this year keeping the Covid situation in mind. “Till last year, we were organising nodal centres across the state for counselling and document verification. Students were coming in numbers to the nodal centres in different scheduled dates,” he added.
Chand said they have changed the offline process because of pandemic situation. “In this web based counselling process, candidates will upload their documents in the OJEE website and our team will verify it. After this they can download their allotment letter for admission,” he added.
An official involved in this counselling process said visit of hundreds of students along with their guardians to a nodal centre is not a good idea during this Covid situation. “If it can be possible through online process, why physical presence is needed. It is being done for the safety of the candidates,” he added.
During document verification, query may be raised by the verifying officers depending on the observations. Therefore, candidates must check their ID regularly during counselling for any message. The query raised must be replied within due date. Otherwise the document verification will be cancelled and the allotted seat will be withdrawn, said the OJEE sources.
Online registration for counselling has been started from October 12 for students who want to take part in the counseling for BTech, BArch and integrated MSc courses. Candidates with JEE Main ranks can fill their choices online. Choice locking and registration will be ended on October 26.
On October 28, round-I allotment will be displayed. Candidates can pay their fees, upload documents and exercise freeze/float option between October 29 and November 1 to get a seat for admission. Last day to respond to query (Round-I) on November 3.
Registration for Special OJEE BTech rank holders or JEE Main rank holders not registered in earlier counseling process will be conducted between October 30 and November 3. Round-2 allotment will be displayed on November 5. Newly allotted candidates can report online for admission between November 6 and November 9.
Round-3 allotment will be displayed on November 12. Final round allotment will be held on November 15 and whole process of counselling will be completed.
