PM Modi said Jogi strived to bring a positive change in the lives of the poor, especially the tribal communities.

Expressing grief at Jogi’s death, the vice-president said, “Saddened by the demise of Shri Ajit Jogi, the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and a former Member of Parliament. My condolences to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace.”
Chhattisgarh governor Anusuiya Uikey, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, BJP vice-president and former chief minister Raman Singh, chief ministers of various states also condoled the demise of first chief minister of Chhattisgarh.
Uikey said that she was in grief over the loss of Jogi, saying that his death is an irreparable miss.
“The IAS officer turned politician had proved himself as an able administrator and an efficient politician as a member of parliament. Jogi carved a niche for himself among the masses as first chief minister of Chhattisgarh as he always remained close to the people”, he said in a statement.
Terming Jogi as a “messiah of the poor”, Mahant said Jogi was known for his grit, determination and will-power and he did not get disturbed with many ups and downs in his life. He also described Jogi’s death as an irreparable loss.
Former chief minister and BJP national vice president Raman Singh expressed grief saying, “I am deeply saddened on the death of Ajit Jogi. It’s an end of political era of state. May his soul rest in peace.”
Chhattisgarh Congress party chief Mohan Markam also grieved over the loss stating, “I am saddened on the death of Jogi ji and people of Chhattisgarh will always remember him. I pray for peace for his soul and his family.”
Leader of opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said, “Jogi death is an irreparable loss to Chhattisgarh, he was an excellent administrator and a successful politician. He was the first CM of state and has contributed a lot for progress of the state. He’s the ‘Ajatkshatru’ of politics. He never turned his back even in difficult times and we have been witness to his struggles. After becoming the CM of state, Jogi ji tried best to take the state a level up and worked towards welfare of poor, farmers and labourers. He has always been very kind and respectful towards the oppressed.
“He never got anxious even during difficult times and was always composed. He knew well how to deal with hardships. Coming out from a small village, Jogi ji has played a key role in politics of nation. He made his own image in politics of Delhi and maintained relationship with them. The tempest that Jogi ji has faced in his life was not easy to face. I extend my sincere condolences to him,” Kaushik said.
Janata Congress legislator party leader Dharamjeet Singh broke down before the media saying that he was attached to Jogi on personal level and he has seen Jogi’s dedication towards his people. A day before he suffered from heart attack, he continued his fight long for the poor and his contribution will never be forgotten.
State BJP president Vikram Usendi said, “Jogi ji reached to the zenith of whatever he did because of his abilities. His excellent administrative skills resulted very well in his political career and when he served as CM. His priorities were focussed on the welfare of deprived people.
