Since the time lockdown was announced and salons where shut, most of the women landed in their kitchen to create magical DIY skincare masks and packs. And amidst the list of ingredients, besan or commonly known as gram flour, is on top. Not just common people but celebs too, have been trying homemade face masks to keep their skin clean and healthy. From Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan to Soha Ali Khan, they have all spoken about the benefits of homemade mask. Anika Sharma who is a beauty expert suggests two different types besan based face mask. “Besan is great option in order to heal your dry skin. To do so, all you need is a spoon full of besan and add full cream milk to it. Make it into a paste like consistency and apply it on your face and let it be for good 10 minutes and once its dry, wash your face off with cold. This pack will leave your skin supple and moisturised. Its a great pack for the monsoon time, because it’s a season where skin feels dry and dull,” says Anika. The expert suggests that its a great ingredient for those who are dealing with acne problems. “Besan consists zinc, which helps in reducing the inflamed zits. If you combine it with tea tree oil and rose water, it will help in reduction of pimples. Mix 2 tablespoons of besan, a tablespoon of rose water and 2-3 drops of tea tree oil to form a light mask.
