A sharp rise in Covid-19 cases in the two districts is said to be the reason for government from barring the religious and commercial activities. Most of the areas in the two districts are already under the red zones.
The government has, however, decided to allow the religious places and hotels and malls in other districts with the standard operating procedure (SOPs) to be framed by various departments and enforcement agencies.
All this was decided during a high-level meeting chaired by CM Manohar Lal Khattar in Chandigarh on Saturday. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, home minister Anil Vij and senior bureaucrats of the government.
According to information, the meeting was called to plan the strategy for unlock 1.0 starting from Monday ie June 8.
“It has been unanimously decided that the religious places and malls falling under the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) shall not be allowed from June 8. In rest of the place the hotels restaurants will be started with 50 percent strength,” said Dy CM Dushyant Chautala while referring to rest of the state.
The district magistrate of the areas will give permissions related to opening of restaurant etc. So far as the religious places are concerned, the standard operating procedures will be released and the visitor shall have to maintain the mandatory social distancing and wearing of masks, he added.
Chautala also informed that the bar on religious gathering shall continue. According to the information, the community programmes like jagran, Sunday service, community namaz or other such programmes involving group of persons shall be totally barred across the state.
