NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India has received close to 9,000 customer bookings in the last 22 days and has delivered 5, 600 new cars, the leading carmaker informed on Tuesday.

So far in May, Hyundai India has serviced more than 1 lakh cars for a strong post-Covid-19 start. Meanwhile, the company has also announced the re-opening of 806 showrooms and 863 workshops across India.

Hyundai India, just like other players, recorded zero domestic sales in April. The company, however, had exported 1, 341 units in the same period.

Tarun Garg, director – sales, marketing and service, Hyundai Motor India, said, “We are also happy to report that we are witnessing encouraging traction for our products especially the 2020 Creta and recently-launched 2020 Verna. We have received close to 9,000 new car bookings and delivered over 5,600 cars to customers across the country in the last 22 days. In addition, our workshops have serviced more than one lakh cars across 530 cities in India during the same period”.

Hyundai’s Chennai plant resumed operations on May 8 after the nationwide shutdown.
