Indian Army Day is celebrated every year on January 15.

It’s a day to celebrate the bravery, selflessness, and steadfast dedication of the Indian Army to preserving the security of the country. The India Army conducts its yearly Army Day parade on January 15. It will be held in Lucknow this year instead of its customary locations in Delhi and Bengaluru.

Army Day 2024: The capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, will host a spectacular parade today to commemorate the 76th Army Day of the Indian Army.

15 January is observed as Army Day every year to commemorate the occasion when General (later Field Marshal) KM Cariappa took over command of the Indian Army from General Francis Roy Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief, in 1949. Thus , General (later Field Marshal) KM Cariappa is the first Indian Commander-in-Chief post-independence.

The purpose of the day is to remember troops and all they have sacrificed for the country.

It was first celebrated in 1949 as the first Indian contingent was inducted in this year. Therefore, we all should understand the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian service committed for the security of the country and the interests of the country and respect the Indian Army.

The Indian Army works as the soul of India.

Today, it is the Indian Army, which works for the overall interests of the country and provides internal and external security to the country.
