Nehru made India stand, Manmohan made India work, and Modi made India run,’ says Dutch author and futurist Adjiedj Bakas.

Adjiedj Bakas, who was in Mumbai to launch his book #Forwardism, co-authored with geopolitical strategist Vinco David, said India’s spirituality will become more relevant globally.

In Mumbai last week to launch his book #Forwardism, co-authored with his late husband and geopolitical strategist Vinco David, Bakas reflected on India’s global potential and personal ties to the country.
Dutch author and futurist Adjiedj Bakas has made the statement, “Nehru made India stand, Manmohan made India work, and Modi made India run.”
Bakas was in Mumbai to launch his book #Forwardism, co-authored with geopolitical strategist Vinco David. He reflected on India’s global potential and personal ties to the country, noting his family’s roots in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and their relocation to Suriname in the 1870s.
In his statement, Bakas highlights the contributions of three Indian Prime Ministers:
Jawaharlal Nehru: credited with establishing India’s foundation as an independent nation.
Manmohan Singh: recognized for making India’s economy function and work effectively.
Narendra Modi: seen as accelerating India’s progress and making it “run” towards a prosperous future.
Bakas also forecasts a prosperous future for India, predicting that it will reclaim its position as the third-largest economy in 2025 or 2026, a position it held in 1820.
He believes India’s strength lies in its “soft power”, including yoga, meditation, culture, and films, comparing its potential global influence to that of the United States’ soft power through Hollywood movies and fashion.
